LAI Bo Ling

Born in Hong Kong, pianist Lai Bo Ling has performed in the US, the UK, Europe, China, Macau and Hong Kong. She attended Diocesan Girls School, where her talents as a pianist earned her numerous accolades, and was awarded the Bachelor of Music degree at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she studied with Nancy Loo and Gabriel Kwok. She next traveled to Fort Worth, Texas to study at Texas Christian University under full scholarship, where she attained the Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Tamás Ungár.

In 2008, Bo Ling was awarded first place in the Symphony in Life and Music Competition, which took her on a concert tour with Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, appearing as the piano soloist in the Aberdeen International Music Festival. In 2010, she was invited by Metropolitan Youth Orchestra to perform in the “Beautiful Sunday Concert” at the Symphony Hall of Shenzhen Concert Hall. Her recent awards include “The most distinguished musician” and a Kabalevsky special mention in the IBLA World Competition in Italy (2012); prize winner of the MTNA and Pi Kappa Lambda Honours competition(2013); and the Solomon Piano Award from TCU (2013). Now back in Hong Kong, she maintains a busy schedule teaching and performing.
