Leveraging the success of the inaugural festival in 2016, the Music Lab Festival 2017 invites the public to explore and enjoy this fruitful, exciting and most importantly local music festival. The festival continues with its dedication to stage a series of top-quality performances produced by local musicians and practitioners that infuse classical and contemporary styles with elements of various artistic media.

Serving as a local programming hub, Music Lab champions to integrate innovative ideas into music performances both onstage and offstage. Through pouring the old wine into the new bottle, the festival envisages more dynamic encounters with music as an alternative to the conventional customs of concert-going. The festival also serves as a collaborative platform that aspires to nurture and empower an assemble of emerging and promising local musicians.

Fingerman - God or No God?

The debate of God has existed for thousands of years. There are questions that are universal and eternal. How did we get here? Do we have a purpose in it at all? Is there a God? Is God dead? Fingerman God or No God uses music to explore our relationship with our universe.

Music in this concert is not merely an appreciation of high art, but an experiential experience on interruption of silence. The second edition of Fingerman brings our audience to a journey of bewilderment and awe.

Beloved Clara

Robert and Clara, after years of rejection and objection, overcame their obstacles and finally united in their matrimony.

The rejoiced couple met the young and talented Brahms and guided the young boy into a mature composer. Clara, a renowned pianist and composer, promoted his work to the cultured audience and Robert even co-composed a violin sonata with him. Robert, however, suffered from depression and tragically lost his mind in an asylum.

His death was one of Brahms’ inspiration for his monumental German Requiem. Beloved Clara is a chamber music concert with a programme of the amour among Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms.
